Turner day is an Idaho State University tradition. Theodore Turner, who is also known as the “Father of ISU,” fought for a four-year school in Pocatello for more than 50 years and helped get a bill signed creating an independent, degree-granting, four-year school in Pocatello called Idaho State College.
