Association of Black Professional
Welcome to the Idaho State Association of Black Professionals Webpage
The Association collaborates with other university departments to make sure that diverse applicants are recruited, nurtured, developed and retained as important members of Idaho State University and the surrounding community. It is our hope that the Association will serve the unique needs of these employees by promoting an understanding of the concerns of black and other minority faculty, staff and administrators and by providing professional development and mentoring to increase opportunities for leadership.
The purpose of this Association is to recognize and promote the advancement of current and future Black professionals at Idaho State University through professional development, advocacy, support, networking opportunities, and community engagement.
- Annual fall meet and greet that provides an opportunity for potential members to meet and network with more seasoned colleagues who can act as formal or informal mentors.
- Support and Co-sponsorship of professional and student diversity events.
- Trainings and lectures to classes and other university departments upon request.
As a relatively new organization, the ISUBPA welcomes your energy and insights. If you are interested in becoming a member of the association please contact the Association President, Dr. Henry Evans, Dr. James Yizar, Membership Chair, or Saba Tefera, Secretary and Treasurer.
If you have been invited to ISU for an on-campus interview we would like to take you for coffee!
